World Environment Day 2012

Calling all local environmental stewards: World Environment Day DC is just around the corner! The District of Columbia has been named North American Host City for this year’s World Environment Day event, which is sponsored by the United Nations Environment Programme and will take place on Wednesday, June 6, 2012.
The District Department of the Environment and UNEP encourage you to Unite for a Sustainable DC and join a host of environmental and energy-efficiency awareness activities taking place between Earth Day on April 22 and World Environment Day on June 5, referred to as the “bridge the gap” period.
Any environmental event or activity during the bridge the gap period can be registered as an official World Environment Day event. Register your event today!
If you would like to exhibit at a World Environment Day Event, please fill out the exhibitor registration form.
You may also be interested in downloadable versions of the World Environment Day DC logos for outreach/promotional materials.
For a list of World Environment Day DC partners, or to register your organization as a partner, please see the World Environment Day DC partner organizations.
World Environment Day DC is administered by a Host Committee, chaired by Allen Burris of Earth’s Natural Force, as well as representatives from UNEP and the D.C. Department of the Environment.
