About Green Energy DC

Green Energy DC is a single resource for all you need to know about renewable energy in the District of Columbia.

A service of the District Department of the Environment (DDOE), Green Energy DC was created by the Clean and Affordable Energy Act of 2008.

As of January 20, 2009, the Clean and Affordable Energy Act of 2008 requires 10 buildings owned or operated by the District of Columbia to be benchmarked using the Energy Star® Portfolio Manager benchmarking tool. For more information, please view the Department of Real Estate Services Energy Management Services for benchmarking data.

In the coming months, you will be able to purchase renewable energy products and services directly from Green Energy DC.
